With the Sterling prepaid MasterCard® you get a personalised, embossed, Chip and PIN prepaid card.
The benefits are easy to see.
Sterling Card is a prepaid card. It gives you many of the benefits of a bank account with added security.
Your new card is a MasterCard® prepaid debit card. This means that like a pay as you go phone, you need to put money on your account before you can use it. It is not a debit card that is linked to a bank account or credit card where you pay for your transactions at a later date.
Whether for everyday use, travel, sharing money abroad or even just for online spending, it is in no way linked to your money in a bank account and therefore limits your exposure to fraud.
Your Sterling Card makes it easy to pay for whatever you want like groceries, petrol, booking holidays or shopping online, wherever the MasterCard acceptance mark is displayed.
Sterling Card is not a credit card, it’s a prepaid debit card, so you don’t have the worry of late payment fees, bank charges, interest to pay or overspending. See the Fees Summary in your Sterling Card terms and conditions for full details.
With Sterling Card travel is made easy! Sterling Card is accepted globally, anywhere that displays the MasterCard acceptance mark, so you or your additional cardholder, can access your money worldwide.
When you get your card
You can manage your account online, check your balance and transactions at any time.
Don't forget, you can request cards for use by additional cardholders at any time (as long as they're aged 13 years or over) for a charge of £9.95 per additional card. There is no monthly charge for additional cards.
